Democracy Week

Democracy Week · Cross-partisan by belief and design

Let’s build the democracy we want to live in.

We’re a cross-partisan group inviting people and organizations from across the political spectrum to connect, celebrate, discuss in good faith, and take action to build the American democratic republic we all want to live in.

What this is

Weeks of events, and the work in between

Democracy Week is a week of events in one city at a time, hosted by whoever wants to host them. People and organizations bring their own events, in whatever format works for them, and we help them reach new audiences, work with other organizers, and boost our collective impact. In between the weeks, we keep building: tools, convenings and initiatives that help make government more effective and accountable to the people.

We often run alongside Tech Week, on purpose, to open up more conversations about the links between tech, AI, venture capital, democracy, and the kind of future we’re building. Not every Democracy Week event needs to be tech related. The ones that are, we encourage to cross-post on the Tech Week calendar.

We think democracy efforts should be both serious, and seriously fun, so we especially encourage events that intertwine music, arts, food, good times, and civic action. Anyone want to pull together a constitutional comedy night? Civic improv? A cross-partisan paddle tournament? We’d love to support.

We’re building on the energy from festivals, the SF AI & Democracy Unconference, InterdepenDance Day, GoodGov LA unconference, the cross-partisan bridging movement, civic jams, and more, to help build this movement and groovement! Join us!
